Hyperliquid’s 284% 2026 gain fuels a hypothetical million-dollar scenario

Motley Fool

Hyperliquid’s HYPE token has gained 284% in 2026 and recently hit a $95 all-time high. The article says $1,000 could reach $1 million within a decade if HYPE kept tripling yearly, but calls that assumption unrealistic amid new rivals and regulatory uncertainty.

Perpetual futures (“perps”) have no set expiration and are used to speculate, often with leverage. The article identifies Hyperliquid as the top decentralized exchange for perps; estimates cited put its share at 70% of decentralized perps trading and about 6% of the global market, where daily perps volume is close to $200 billion.

U.S. investors are currently restricted from using Hyperliquid’s platform, but the article says they can buy HYPE on major crypto exchanges or through spot ETFs, including the Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF, launched in May. It also reports plans to offer perps trading through a derivatives exchange owned by Payward, Kraken’s parent company. The article says President Trump wants Hyperliquid, based in Singapore, to come to the U.S., and notes that the Clarity Act has stalled in Congress. The Motley Fool disclosed it holds and recommends Hyperliquid.
