Hank Brown’s final-seconds touchdown lifts Iowa past No. 18 Michigan

SB Nation

Iowa rallied past No. 18 Michigan with a touchdown pass from Hank Brown to Reece Vander Zee with two seconds left, capping a 91-yard, 1:48 drive after the Wolverines had retaken the lead. It was the Hawkeyes’ first road win over a ranked team since 2015.

Brown completed 13 of 16 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, after going 8 of 16 for 85 yards in the first three quarters. Iowa also stopped Michigan on fourth-and-1 in the red zone, and Deshaun Lee intercepted Bryce Underwood as the Wolverines were nearing the end zone.

Michigan’s loss was its first at home while leading at halftime in 58 games. Iowa’s next game is against Ohio State, followed by a visit to Washington on Oct. 9.
