The Giants host Tennessee Sunday at 1 p.m. with Jameis Winston taking over after Jaxson Dart was ruled out for the season with a knee injury. Andrew Thomas will play, according to a Giants injury roundup.
Dart was placed on injured reserve with knee surgery pending; a linked report said the operation was planned for Friday. Coach John Harbaugh said the team was determined to respond, and Dart spent the week in meetings supporting Winston and his teammates.
ESPN reported that New York is likely to build its offense around Winston’s arm and downfield passing alongside the run game; guard Jon Runyan said the playbook has more than 300 plays. Special teams have been a bright spot: Dominic Zvada scored all the Giants’ points in Monday’s 28-6 loss to the Rams, making field goals from 24 and 52 yards.
