Georgia moved up two places to No. 1 in ESPN’s updated college football FPI after Week 4. Notre Dame also climbed two spots to No. 2, while Ohio State fell from No. 1 to No. 3; Texas and Miami complete the top five.
The remaining teams, in order, are Alabama, Indiana, LSU, Oregon, Florida, Tennessee, Utah, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Penn State, Texas A&M, BYU, USC, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Auburn and Iowa.
ESPN describes FPI as a team-strength measure expressed in points above or below average, intended to predict performance for the rest of the season. Its projections use 20,000 simulations based on FPI, results to date and the remaining schedule; ratings and projections update daily.
