No. 1 Texas no longer lists edge Colin Simmons on its injury report for Saturday’s game at No. 14 Tennessee in Knoxville. Tight end Nick Townsend became the fourth Longhorn listed out; leading rusher Hollywood Smothers remains questionable with a reported lower-leg injury.
Townsend had been listed as doubtful after a knee injury in the win over Ohio State. The three other Longhorns listed out are defensive lineman Justus Terry, nickel back Xavier Filsaime and offensive lineman Jordan Coleman.
Simmons had been listed as probable Wednesday after hurting his foot in last week’s win over UTSA. CBS Sports reported “legitimate concern” that Smothers would be unavailable; he has led Texas with 198 yards on 41 carries and two touchdowns through three games.
