The Canadiens beat the Senators 4-2 at Montreal's Bell Centre on Saturday to close their preseason; Chris Kreider, Noah Dobson, Juraj Slafkovsky and Phillip Danault scored. In a simultaneous split-squad game in Ottawa, the Senators won 4-3.
Ottawa opened the scoring in Montreal, and Kreider tied it minutes later. Dobson drew the Canadiens level on a second-period power play, before Slafkovsky put Montreal ahead 3-2. Danault made it 4-2 midway through the third, with Mike Matheson and Slafkovsky contributing to the goal.
