Cam Squires (21st), Ben Kevan (22nd), Chase Cheslock (23rd), Gustav Hillström (24th) and Veeti Louhivaara (25th) occupy the latest five spots in All About the Jersey’s 2026 New Jersey Devils Top 25 Under 25; the author sees all five as plausible future NHL players.
Cheslock led St. Thomas defensemen with 24 points in 38 games last season. Louhivaara went 12-6-4 with a .905 save percentage and a 2.86 goals-against average in 22 USHL games ahead of his UConn season. Hillström had 13 goals and 31 points in 25 under-20 games, then one point in 27 SHL games; he has scored once in three games this season. Kevan had 10 points in 34 games as an Arizona State freshman, while Squires recorded 16 points in 47 AHL games and three points in eight ECHL games.
Squires fell from 12th in the previous ranking to 21st, while Louhivaara and Hillström rose from 33rd and 31st to 25th and 24th. Squires was the only player ranked in the top 25 by every voter. James’s vote broke ties between Hillström and Cheslock, and between Kevan and Squires.
