Iowa beat Michigan 20-19 on Hank Brown’s touchdown pass to Reece Vander Zee with two seconds left. Coach Kirk Ferentz was visibly emotional afterward, saying he had never seen a win like it at the Big House and calling it “one we’ll all remember.” Iowa is 4-0.
Iowa’s offense struggled for much of the game, but its defense and special teams kept the Hawkeyes in contention. The offense scored 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Ferentz has led Iowa since 1998 and now has an 8-9 career record against Michigan.
