Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” now holds the Billboard Hot 100 record with 23 weeks at No. 1, one more than Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Carey could retake the mark this holiday season, but may need more than one Christmas to catch up.
Langley first reached No. 1 in February and has earned all 23 weeks at the summit during 2026. Carey’s song has returned to No. 1 each holiday season since 2019; its total rose from 18 to 22 during the 2025 holiday period.
If Langley stays at 23 weeks, Carey would need two more weeks at No. 1 to move ahead. Carey has added as many as four weeks in one holiday season. Before her song reached 22 weeks, the record was 19, shared by “Old Town Road” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”; “One Sweet Day” held a 16-week mark for 23 years.
