Eight men from six states face charges, including conspiracy, over an alleged plan to attack President Donald Trump’s June 14 UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House. They have pleaded not guilty; the plot allegedly involved explosive-carrying drones and sniper fire.
The Washington Post, citing court records, reported that the group apparently connected online and allegedly planned a demonstration north of the White House before flying explosive-packed drones overhead. The blasts were meant to prompt evacuations and funnel people toward sniper fire. The mother of 19-year-old Tycen Proper called police after overhearing him on a phone call; when she asked what he was discussing, he reportedly said he needed to “deal with the evil government.”
The Post reported that Michael Thomas, 32, allegedly discussed needing $1,300 for drones, said he was broke and suggested panhandling to raise the money. It also reported that Thomas told authorities he believed the government was run by an elite group that “sacrifice and consume infants.”
