Romanian authorities identified the aircraft as a Russian Gerbera-type drone and said it crashed near Solca, Suceava County, after entering Romanian airspace for about four minutes. Moldova’s police said a drone of the same type crashed in Cernita. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) mapped incursions into NATO and Moldovan airspace, saying they were likely part of efforts to normalize violations by increasing their frequency.
Poland’s deputy prime minister said a fire at a Starlink ground station in Wola Krobowska on Wednesday was sabotage intended to disrupt internet services. Germany suspended Berlin-Brandenburg airport on Wednesday night after an unidentified drone was spotted nearby. ISW said incidents in Poland and Germany fit a pattern of Russian hybrid attacks, although Moscow had not been officially blamed.
