Dolly Parton’s estate obtained a temporary restraining order against nephew Bryan Seaver after he was fired as head of security on Sept. 16. A lawsuit alleges he threatened to damage her brand and made violent threats against staff.
She's Alive, LLC, which Parton set up to protect her legacy after her death, filed suit Sept. 22. The filing alleges Seaver threatened to launch a podcast to damage her brand partnerships unless paid. His termination notice ended more than 20 years as head of security and said trustees would contact him about his interest as a trust beneficiary.
Since Parton’s death on Aug. 25, longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank have overseen the trust. In a Sept. 21 statement to TMZ, Seaver said he and his teams were dismayed by Nozell and the bank’s unexpected and unexplained actions, and remained resolved to fulfill what he described as Parton’s final directive to protect her family.
