The Dodgers host the Padres at Dodger Stadium Thursday at 7:10 p.m. in their final regular-season home game, with Los Angeles one win from securing the NL’s No. 2 seed. San Diego is also one win from clinching a playoff berth; Tyler Glasnow faces Nick Pivetta.
The teams have split the first two games of the series. The Padres are fourth, one game ahead of the Phillies and Cubs, and finish the regular season against Arizona; the Dodgers close at San Francisco.
Glasnow is coming off a strong outing against the Giants. He and Pivetta have had injury-filled seasons and fewer than 20 starts combined. Glasnow has been fully built up, while Pivetta has not reached 80 pitches in any of his three starts since returning. The game airs on SportsNet LA and, out of market, MLB Network. Radio coverage is on AM 570 in English and KTNQ 1020 AM in Spanish.
