Indiana (3-0) hosts undefeated Northwestern (2-0) at Memorial Stadium on Friday for its Big Ten opener. The SB Nation preview predicts a big rushing night for Turbo Richard, an impact play from Davion Chandler and at least two sacks by Indiana linebackers.
Richard averaged 7.7 yards per carry through Indiana’s nonconference slate. Northwestern allowed 180 rushing yards on 33 attempts against Colorado, including 91 yards on eight carries by JaQuail Smith. The preview also identifies Chandler as a possible source of receiving production beyond Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh.
Northwestern quarterback Aidan Chiles has avoided pressure and extended plays with his legs, the preview says. It calls Indiana’s defensive line the strongest the Wildcats have faced so far and expects it to open lanes for linebackers Isaiah Jones and Rolijah Hardy.
