DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta on Saturday urged Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) to quit if he cannot or does not want to do his job, saying he could then “spend all day on Fox News.” Kenyatta cited Fetterman’s repeated criticism of Democrats on right-wing outlets.
Fetterman has drawn backlash for criticizing Democrats on Fox News and for appearing virtually at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention in support of Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.). Kenyatta said he was angry and disgusted that Fetterman praised a president who, in his view, had cut health care for millions.
A Wall Street Journal report questioned Fetterman’s attention to the job and his constituent duties, citing one alleged instance in which he prioritized a Fox News interview over meeting with paralyzed veterans. Fetterman has said he will not become a Republican unless the Democratic Party becomes overtly anti-Israel.
