Donald Trump denied reports that Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds was distancing himself from Trump after a site redesign gave Trump's endorsement less prominence. Donalds said he was proud of the endorsement but did not address the changes.
In a 449-word Truth Social post, Trump called the report “fake” and said two Florida rallies with Donalds were already scheduled, claiming they would be sold out. Trump did not explain the website overhaul.
Recent Florida polling cited in the report had Donalds neck and neck with Democrat David Jolly; Decision Desk HQ designated the governor's race a “toss up.”
