Derek Hough says he stays connected with wife Hayley Erbert and daughter Everley through FaceTime, notes and evening walks while judging “Dancing With the Stars,” hosting “Extra” and preparing for his November–December Dance for the Holidays tour.
Hough said he became emotional bringing Everley to the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom for the first time. He recalled arriving there at 22 and called holding his daughter in that space his greatest achievement.
He said the show's two-night premiere made family time harder, and that he is especially moved watching Erbert become a mother. Erbert and Everley also traveled with him during his Symphony of Dance: Encore tour over the summer.
