Stephen Curry agreed to a two-year, $116 million extension that would keep him with the Warriors through 2028-29, an anonymous source with direct knowledge told AP Friday night. The team had not announced the terms; Curry was eligible for up to $136 million.
Curry signed a $62.6 million extension for the 2026-27 season in August 2024. The new deal would make 2028-29 his 20th season with Golden State; if he plays that season, AP says he would join Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant and Udonis Haslem as the only NBA players to spend 20 or more seasons with one franchise.
Golden State general manager Mike Dunleavy said in a statement that the team was excited to reach an agreement. Last season, Curry averaged 26.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 30.9 minutes per game, but played only 43 games. A nagging right knee injury sidelined him for more than two months before he returned in early April.
