Cooper Flagg’s Topps rookie debut patch card sold for $8.04 million at Fanatics Collect early Friday, setting a record for a card featuring one NBA player. The price includes the buyer’s premium; the buyer was not disclosed.
The sale is the most expensive card sold through Fanatics Collect and the third-highest NBA card sale overall. Only dual-player cards featuring Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant ($12.9 million) and Jordan and LeBron James ($10 million) have sold for more. The previous rookie debut patch-card record was $1.1 million, paid by Dick’s Sporting Goods for Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes’ card in March 2025.
Topps began selling NBA debut patch cards in August; each is a one-of-one card with a signed patch worn by the player during his professional regular-season debut. Jason Williams won Flagg’s card through an online card break the month before the sale, then chose to auction it through Fanatics Collect. The Mavericks had offered a game-worn Flagg jersey, two premium-level season tickets for 32 years and other items in exchange. Fanatics Collect vice president Kevin Lenane did not disclose how much Williams will keep, saying the platform typically charges an auction fee.
