Colorado reassigned Beckett Hamilton to Red Deer (WHL), placed Domenick Fensore and Christian Wolanin on waivers, and sent Cooper Gay, Maros Jedlicka and Nikita Prishchepov to Colorado Eagles camp. The roster now has 39 players.
Fensore and Wolanin will join the Eagles’ camp if they clear waivers; the other three were reassigned there directly. The 39 remaining Avalanche players comprise 21 forwards, 14 defensemen and four goaltenders.
The Avalanche were due to face Utah on the road Sept. 26, ahead of opening night on Sept. 30. A fairly large cut was expected after the Utah game as the team works toward its opening-night roster.
