More than 100 fashion and climate professionals gathered in New York on Thursday for the Climate Leaders Roundtable Breakfast, discussing circular business models, garment repair and sustainable materials. Its largest crowd yet was accommodated in a larger venue.
Alternew, reverse-logistics company Fillogic, digital product passport provider Alu and preloved-fashion search engine Beni hosted the breakfast. Participants chose among short, simultaneous roundtables, including discussions on how to explain circularity to boardrooms and the costs limiting the use of sustainable materials.
The 2025 Circularity Gap Report Finance estimated that only 2% of global investment went to circular businesses. Fillogic vice president Sydney Badger, who attended the previous year’s roundtable, said the company paid for this year’s event and is interested in sponsoring it again in 2027.
