Cajas de Luz, an 11,485-square-foot home above San Miguel de Allende, has come to market for the first time at $6.9 million. Designed by Manuel Cervantes, the four-bedroom, four-bath house comprises six connected volumes shaped around the sloping site.
The home combines tinted concrete, natural stone, steel, glass and reclaimed ironwood from Borneo. Cervantes described the design as a balance of mass and light, with vegetation, water and controlled natural light softening the concrete.
Mexico City studio Habitación 116 designed the interiors, using custom furnishings and objects drawing on Mexican craft and design. Other pieces were sourced from San Miguel showroom NAMUH.
