Canada’s oldest living person, Marie Rosa, celebrated her 111th birthday on Sept. 17 at her Etobicoke, Ontario, retirement home. Daughter Catherine Sinisalo said Rosa’s advice was to love everyone and credited her mother’s love of vegetables with helping her reach 111.
Rosa worked as a seamstress and forewoman during World War II. At the birthday celebration, lemon cake reminded Sinisalo of the lemon meringue pies her mother made during her childhood.
