Florida GOP candidate Byron Donalds said Wednesday he is not backing away from President Trump’s agenda after some Trump mentions were removed from his campaign site. He said the update refocuses the site on affordability and general-election issues.
An archived version from earlier this month showed Trump’s endorsement repeated on the homepage, a photo of Trump and Donalds giving thumbs-up, and an Issues-page promise to “Enact the Trump Agenda.” The current site still lists Trump’s endorsement among conservative figures and mentions Donalds’ role as a 2024 Trump campaign surrogate, but the Issues page now leads with “Accountable, Achievable, Affordable!”
At the Sunshine Economy Summit, Donalds said his campaign had been working on the website changes for about two months. He called Trump’s agenda “common-sense,” citing law and order, sound markets, border security and continued work with the federal government on immigration policy. Asked whether the changes meant he no longer intended to enact that agenda, he said, “No, I think that’s a separate question.”
