Drohan has not started since Sept. 12; his two most recent bullpen outings covered 2⅓ innings without a run, but his two preceding starts yielded 11 runs, 10 hits and four home runs. Painter has a 4.03 ERA in September, has gone beyond five innings twice this month and has allowed four homers over that span.
