The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0 after beating Miami and the Chargers 26-14, but head coach Klint Kubiak says they must prove themselves every week. Las Vegas and Kansas City are the AFC West’s only unbeaten teams; the Raiders next visit New Orleans.
Kubiak said the Raiders have an underdog mentality and that two games are not enough to prove themselves. They were listed as seven-point underdogs against the Chargers, who stymied their run game for much of the contest; Kubiak said Las Vegas still needs to improve on the ground.
Kubiak said the Raiders failed to convert an early red-zone chance but finished the Chargers game with a touchdown, and credited the defense for helping the team keep trying. Las Vegas won its first two games without tight end Brock Bowers. After New Orleans, the Raiders’ next opponents are the Chiefs, Patriots, Bills and Rams.
