Brewers prospect Braylon Payne will seek to cut down on swing-and-miss issues in the Arizona Fall League after hitting 28 home runs and stealing 25 bases across High-A and Double-A in 2026. The 22-year-old is Milwaukee’s No. 6 prospect.
Payne’s home-run total rose from eight at Single-A in 2025 to 28 across High-A and Double-A in 2026. MLB Pipeline says he became the youngest minor-leaguer to reach 25 homers and 25 steals since Adrian Beltré did so in 1997.
Payne has dealt with swing-and-miss issues throughout his development. The AFL offers extra at-bats against some of professional baseball’s best young pitchers; the article says progress with his swing decisions and contact, while maintaining his power and speed, could raise his prospect standing heading into 2027.
