Raoni Barcelos says he plans to finish Raul Rosas Jr. in their UFC Vegas 121 main event on Sept. 26 in Las Vegas, citing wrestling and jiu-jitsu he believes can disrupt Rosas’ game. Barcelos has won five straight; Rosas has never been finished in MMA.
Rosas has won six of seven UFC bouts; his only UFC loss was a decision to Christian Rodriguez in his second Octagon appearance. Since that defeat, he has beaten more experienced opponents, including Rob Font and Vince Morales.
Barcelos will have longtime friend Glover Teixeira in his corner for the first time in nearly six years, after training with the former UFC champion for three weeks in Danbury before camp in Rio de Janeiro. If he wins, Barcelos said he would call for bouts with Mario Bautista, ranked No. 4, or David Martinez.
