Bears’ Friday report leaves Keenum as only healthy QB before Eagles game

HEAVY

Caleb Williams (hamstring) and Tyson Bagent (concussion) missed Friday’s practice, leaving Case Keenum as Chicago’s only healthy quarterback before Monday’s Eagles game. Coach Ben Johnson has not ruled Williams out but does not expect him to practice this week.

Bagent had yet to clear the NFL concussion protocol after replacing Williams last Sunday. Kicker Cairo Santos also missed a second straight day with a right hip injury. Chicago has no backup kicker, and the Chicago Sun-Times reported the team would likely turn to the free-agent market if Santos cannot play. Saturday’s final injury designations were expected to settle the quarterback and kicker questions.

Kyle Monangai returned to full participation with a knee issue, while Grady Jarrett was full after a rest day. Tyrique Stevenson improved from no participation to limited with a hamstring injury. Noah Sewell and Shemar Turner remained limited after opening 21-day practice windows Wednesday; the windows are a step toward eligibility, not clearance to play. Joe Thuney did not practice for rest.
