Boeing and SPEEA reached a tentative four-year contract covering about 17,000 Puget Sound engineering and technical workers. Boeing says the ratification vote runs Sept. 24–Oct. 1, before the current contract expires Oct. 6; the deal includes a guaranteed 10% raise.
The proposal provides a 10% guaranteed wage increase effective Oct. 16, another 4% increase in a March 2027 compensation review, and annual 6% wage pools from 2028 through 2030, with minimum guaranteed increases of 4% each year. SPEEA’s negotiating teams recommend approval, though the union says the offer does not deliver everything it sought.
Workers rejected Boeing’s previous offer on Aug. 21, with 64% of engineers and about 72% of technical workers voting against it. A strike could disrupt engineering support for certification of the 737 MAX 10 and 777-9, programs already years behind schedule; a contract agreement would not resolve those delays.
