In ‘Blood of My Blood,’ maidservant Grace catches Murtagh’s eye, setting up a triangle with Jocasta, her employer, after their Season 1 romantic encounter. Executive producer Matthew B. Roberts says Grace will help shape Murtagh into the more jaded man seen in ‘Outlander.’
Roberts described the prequel’s Murtagh as open-hearted and eager for a good time, unlike the jaded, scarred Murtagh played by Duncan Lacroix in ‘Outlander.’ He said Grace is a strong character whose story unfolds over the season and touches many lives.
The episode also brings back Seema (Lauren McQueen), whose brothel contract Arch Bug buys out before placing her as a scullery maid at Castle Leathers to watch for Henry’s return. Henry has escaped a 20th-century asylum, and Roberts called Seema a “pretty big” threat.
