Blinn College plans a $43 million Brenham sports complex after trustees voted 5-2 on Sept. 15. It will have a fieldhouse and turf fields for football, soccer and softball. Work is due to start in November, with completion targeted for summer 2028.
The 28,555-square-foot fieldhouse is planned to house offices, locker rooms, training facilities and storage, with about 250 parking spaces. Plans also include a synthetic-turf football practice field, separate competitive fields for soccer and softball, an intramural or supplemental practice field and an eight-lane track.
Texas-based Bartlett Cocke General Contractors was selected to build the complex, with Pfluger Architects providing design services. Football and track athletes now practice on the site of the former Spencer Stadium, while softball and soccer play at Hohlt Park. Blinn’s athletic program has claimed more than 50 national championships since 1986.
