Bitcoin drops to $84,209 as Treasury yields hit multi-decade highs

TheStreet

Bitcoin fell 1.6% to $84,208.97 on Sept. 24 as U.S. Treasury yields hit multi-decade highs, giving back gains from a Sept. 22 move above $87,000. The 30-year yield reached about 5.44%, its highest since 2004, while the 10-year topped 5.13%, its highest since 2007.

The yield spike coincided with a bond-market rout, and the article said the data suggested the market expected another Federal Reserve rate hike. Ethereum fell 2% to $2,668.39, XRP 4.2% to $1.50, and the crypto market's total capitalization dropped 2.5% to $2.93 trillion.
