Ben Affleck said his 17-year-old challenged his relationship advice during a family dinner, asking, “Oh, like you’re the expert on relationships?” He recalled the exchange on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Sept. 24 and said his children often tease him.
Affleck said he believes his “lived experience” offers lessons, but described his children exchanging looks when he launches into a parental speech. During a bookstore visit, Fin, 17, also joked that a book titled I’m Sorry for Everything could be Affleck’s autobiography. Affleck said the joke did not bother him and he was “kind of proud” of his children’s teasing.
Affleck and Jennifer Garner married in 2005, announced their separation in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2018. He later reunited with Jennifer Lopez in 2021 and married her in July 2022; Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, and their divorce was finalized in 2025. Garner has described Affleck as an “incredible co-parent” and a “great partner” in caring for their children when work takes her away, PEOPLE reported.
