Bears QB Caleb Williams is out against the Eagles with a Grade 2 hamstring injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. Doctors estimate 3-4 weeks, though Williams could return sooner. Tyson Bagent cleared concussion protocol; Jay Glazer reported he will back up starter Case Keenum.
After the Eagles game, Chicago's listed schedule has the Jets at home in Week 4, the Packers on the road in Week 5, the Falcons on Oct. 18 and the Patriots on short rest on Oct. 22.
Glazer said Bagent was not made the starter because he had not been involved much in the game plan. Bagent was away from the facility earlier in the week, practiced the previous day and was presumed present for the day's walk-through.
