Skip Bayless questioned Atlanta’s decision to hire Kevin Stefanski over Raheem Morris during Thursday’s game, citing Morris’ three-way tie atop the NFC South and Stefanski’s final two Cleveland seasons (3-14, 5-12). The 0-2 Falcons led Green Bay 24-7 after three quarters.
Atlanta finished 8-9 in 2025, matching Carolina and Tampa Bay; Carolina won the NFC South on a tiebreaker, leaving Atlanta out of the playoffs. Owner Arthur Blank fired Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot after the season. Stefanski had won AP Coach of the Year in 2020 and 2023 and led Cleveland to the playoffs in both years.
Atlanta had scored just 16 points through its first two weeks and had not run an offensive play in the red zone. After Michael Penix Jr. returned, the Falcons scored 17 unanswered points. Early in the fourth quarter, Atlanta had outgained Green Bay 419-194; Bijan Robinson had 169 rushing yards and Drake London 138 receiving yards.
