Detroit ruled offensive lineman Ben Bartch (foot) and safety Thomas Harper (ankle) out of Sunday's Week 3 game against the Jets. Christian Mahogany and right tackle Blake Miller will return, while starting right guard Tate Ratledge was upgraded to full participation Friday.
Harper's absence adds to a depleted Detroit secondary: safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph were already out, and defensive back Avonte Maddox suffered a season-ending foot injury at Buffalo that will require surgery. Detroit entered Sunday ranked 31st in both pass defense, allowing 310.5 yards per game, and scoring defense, giving up 35.5 points per game.
New York also ruled out safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, tight end Mason Taylor and linebacker Kiko Mauigoa. Running back Kene Nwangwu was listed as doubtful, while receiver Adonai Mitchell and edge rusher Joseph Ossai were questionable on Friday's injury report.
