Dominic West reunited with former The Wire co-stars Hassan Johnson and Wendell Pierce at the red-carpet premiere of his new legal drama War, 24 years after the HBO series debuted in 2002. He embraced Johnson when they spotted each other.
The Wire ran for five seasons, from 2002 to 2008, examining institutions connected to Baltimore's crime scene, including the media, police and criminals. West played detective Jimmy McNulty, Johnson played Roland “Wee-Bey” Brice, and Pierce portrayed police officer Bunk Moreland.
West has joked that some fans expect him to be American because of McNulty and seem disappointed when they hear him speak; he is from the U.K.
