Astros rout A’s 13-2 as Sunday could secure home Wild Card date

Houston beat the Athletics 13-2 Saturday; an Astros win or Rangers loss Sunday would put them at home against the White Sox at Daikin Park for Tuesday’s Wild Card round. Hayden Wesneski earned the win, allowing one earned run over seven innings and striking out five.

Yordan Alvarez hit a three-run homer, his 42nd of the season, and raised his RBI total to 105. Jeremy Pena had four hits, including his 21st and 22nd homers; the latter tied his career high.
