Arizona rallied after an uneven first half to beat Washington State 34-24 Saturday. Tre Spivey had seven catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns; Mays Pese recorded five tackles and a tackle for loss, and Tre Smith blocked a field goal and recovered a fumble.
Honorable mentions included Caleb Smith, with four catches for 86 yards and a touchdown plus a 39-yard punt return; Ismail Mahdi, with 10 carries for 63 yards; Jay’Vion Cole, with six tackles, half a tackle for loss and a pass breakup; and Everett Roussaw Jr., with a tackle for loss, sack and forced fumble.
Spivey had 13 catches for 219 yards and three touchdowns over the previous two weeks. Pese’s tackle for loss came on a spin move in the red zone near the end of the first half.
