Anduril won first place in XPRIZE’s autonomous wildfire-response track, earning $1.2 million and a $1 million detection bonus. All three finalists found the target fire within 10 minutes, but none fully extinguished it, leaving the grand prize unclaimed.
Anduril’s Lattice system is designed to link cameras, sensors, drones and suppression equipment so it can coordinate detection and response without people manually connecting each step. The test required teams to find a high-risk fire within a 1,000-square-kilometer area of rural Alaska and extinguish it within 10 minutes while leaving decoy fires untouched.
Dryad Networks placed second with $800,000, and AURA Foresight finished third with $500,000. The competition now moves into a 12-to-15-month Impact Phase intended to bring the technologies closer to real-world use. Anduril released video Wednesday of a demonstration in California.
