Alexander Ludwig is promoting Netflix’s “Unabomber,” in which he plays an FBI agent, while filming Season 4 of “The White Lotus” in France. He calls the new season the show’s most extravagant yet; HBO and creator Mike White have not officially revealed its story.
In “Unabomber,” Jacob Tremblay plays Ted Kaczynski as a Harvard undergraduate taking part in a controversial psychiatric study. The film raises questions about whether the study’s traumatic impact may have contributed to Kaczynski’s later radical beliefs and deadly actions. Shailene Woodley plays the FBI agent who follows a tip from Kaczynski’s brother, while Ludwig plays a less-than-supportive fellow agent. The film is streaming on Netflix.
Variety previously reported that the “White Lotus” story involves two rival filmmaking teams competing for the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival; filming has been spotted in Paris, Monaco and Cannes. Ludwig and AJ Michalka were the first cast members announced. The cast also includes Marissa Long, Ari Graynor, Steve Coogan, Max Greenfield and Kumail Nanjiani. Ludwig said his Cato death scene in 2012’s “The Hunger Games,” including a monologue director Gary Ross wrote on the day, helped make the character memorable and launch his career.
