Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell said his father, Jim, has died in an Instagram post on Thursday, Sept. 24. O’Connell said he and his family are heartbroken; teammates and other NFL players offered condolences in the comments.
Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and wide receiver Jack Bech posted messages of support. Tight end Brock Bowers, former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis also shared condolences.
O’Connell wrote that his father had affected countless lives, thanked people for their support and asked for continued prayers as the family grieves and remembers him.
