Manchester City has been found guilty of 114 of 115 Premier League charges over financial-rule breaches from 2009 to 2018, The Athletic reports. Punishment is undecided, and the club has 14 days to appeal.
The charges concerned inaccurate disclosures about payments to players and coaching staff, as well as breaches of UEFA financial fair play rules and the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules. Possible penalties range from a reprimand or fine to a points deduction or expulsion.
A points deduction could be applied going forward or retroactively, but sports-regulation expert James Hill told The Athletic he expected any deduction to apply going forward. City’s appeal would be heard by a new three-member Premier League commission; the article says its decision would be final, with no further appeal route.
