After Curry’s extension, Butler and Green express interest in retiring with Warriors

The Athletic reported that Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green have expressed interest in retiring with Golden State after Stephen Curry agreed to a two-year, $116 million extension. The report said staying could require them to accept substantially smaller contracts.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported that Curry’s extension includes a player option for 2028-29. Butler and Green’s contracts are worth a combined $137 million this season; smaller deals could give Golden State an opportunity to pursue free agents next offseason.
