Lexi Stephens chose Adam Levine as her coach on Wednesday’s episode of “The Voice,” after a four-chair turn for her audition. She said she had initially planned to pick Kelly Clarkson; Levine celebrated her choice by dropping to the floor and doing a push-up.
Stephens auditioned with Sienna Spiro’s “Die on This Hill.” Levine called her a “unicorn,” said she had “by far the best blind audition,” and said she was “probably gonna win The Voice.” Queen Latifah praised the performance as “beautiful” and “masterful,” while Riley Green called Stephens probably the most talented person to appear on the stage so far.
Season 30 began with a three-night premiere on NBC on Sept. 21; episodes are available on Peacock the day after airing.
