A second government-paid Trump ad warned of a ‘final battle’ on NFL broadcasts

The Independent

A second U.S. government-paid ad promoting Trump aired on Fox during NFL games Sunday, warning of a “final battle” for America. The White House said the spots were not campaign ads, comparing them to past public-service announcements, amid criticism ahead of the midterms.

The ad aired during Fox’s broadcasts of the Washington Commanders-Seattle Seahawks game and the Carolina Panthers-Cleveland Browns matchup, CNN reported. Trump says he will “cast out” communists, Marxists and fascists and “rout the fake news media.”

The ad was nearly identical to a video Trump posted on Truth Social in January 2024 during his campaign; that version urged viewers to join his “Fight for America” and included campaign information. A separate government-funded ad aired Thursday. A White House spokesperson described that earlier spot as educational and patriotic and said Trump was not on the ballot, while critics said it resembled propaganda.
