The uncropped image appeared in a Fox News report published on May 9, 2013. Early coverage disagreed on the building’s height: Fox News’ caption said 13 stories, while The Express Tribune described it as nine; early casualty counts were also uncertain.
The fire began on the seventh floor and took 20 hours to extinguish. A Lahore Division government summary said the 35-year-old building’s poorly designed staircases hampered rescue efforts.
