The Mets called up right-handed reliever Chayce McDermott and optioned left-hander Jefry Yan to the minors, swapping them on the active roster on the penultimate day of the season. Yan made his major-league debut with New York this year and posted a 4.87 ERA in 20⅓ innings.
Yan also recorded a 4.82 FIP, with 26 strikeouts and 15 walks. McDermott had pitched 5⅓ major-league innings for the Mets; across 7⅔ innings with the Mets and Dodgers this season, he had a 5.87 ERA and 6.49 FIP. In 41⅓ minor-league innings, he had a 3.92 ERA and 3.82 FIP.
