At her late-August wedding in Sancerre, France, Sasha Hekimian tossed her bouquet from a balcony for the men to catch, but her mother-in-law’s dog, Burpy, darted in and snatched it after it hit the ground. Video of the surprise grab went viral on Instagram.
Hekimian said she changed the tradition because she was tired of seeing women scramble for the flowers while their partners stood nearby. She had planned to preserve the bouquet in a frame, but it was badly damaged; she said guests laughed and the couple still recounts the incident.
